Dillon Brooks proves he’s the best teammate in the NBA with All-Star reaction

In the wake of Dillon Brooks dropping a career-high 40 points in the win over the Detroit Pistons, without Devin Booker and Jalen Green no less, talk around him is that he is an All-Star who has reached a level we haven’t seen before.

Everyone has an opinion on it, and when you’re playing the best basketball of your career and helping a team with no expectations get to the playoffs, you should consider it.

Brooks thinks Devin Booker should be the Suns All-Star

In the aftermath of the win over Detroit, Brooks was asked if he thinks he should be an All-Star, and to no one’s surprise, he does.

But instead of being optimistic about it or shouting from the rooftops about the disrespect he’ll feel if it doesn’t happen, he instead took the most measured response you’ll ever see.

He’s fine with coming in, but he believes if one Suns player has to make it as a backup, it should definitely be Devin Booker because of the way he’s led the team this season.

That perfectly sums up what’s great about the Suns this season. Individuals are quick to praise their teammates and share the accolades that have come their way.

Not to make this about Kevin Durant (and we couldn’t blame him if he had a “Why Always Me?” moment like Mario Balotelli once did before this), but that’s a stark contrast to what we’ve seen in The Valley over the past two seasons.

Durant even took to social media when someone made fun of the fact that Brooks has more 40-point games than him this season. All light-hearted things of course, but that brings a slightly different feeling.

Instead, here’s a player in Brooks who was made a scapegoat for the Memphis Grizzlies’ shortcomings before being traded to what seemed like a worse situation for Durant in Phoenix.

He’s finally getting his flowers now and the prospect of becoming an All-Star despite being the 45th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft is great. Yet he made it about Booker.

A superstar who doesn’t need the support of the fans like he already has, and who has already experienced what it will probably be like four times in the mid-season exhibition.

Opponents hate him, but Dillon Brooks has completely changed the culture for the Suns in just a few short months, and this was his best performance as a teammate yet.
