Rep. Alma Adams said that the charges against Mciver are an indication of the problem of the Trump government with black women.
Several black leaders of the congress speak out against the Federal Assault declarations that the Ministry of Justice (DOJ) op. Lamonica Mciver (D-NJ) are pushed after a gap between protesters and the American immigration and customs enforcement officials (ICE).
Reps. Alma Adams (NC), Joyce Beatty (OH) and Democratic House Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY) say that the charges are political payback time
According to ABC 7, Alina Habba, American lawyer for the New Jersey district, said that crime charges to Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, who was arrested outside the Delaney Hall Immigration Detention Center at the time of the shock were rejected.
“The citizens of New Jersey deserve a uniform leadership so that we can go to work to keep our state safe,” said Habba.
The attack costs come after Mciver was seen on video that went back and forth with authorities during the Protest of 9 May that became ugly. Mciver with a red jacket, it can be heard that officers cannot put on her hands. In a statement, the Congressman of New Jersey faulted the Trump government and said that the charges were meant to criminalize and deter legal supervision. ”
“This administration will never stop me from working for the people in our district and to stand up for what is good,” said Mciver. “I am grateful for the outpouring the support I have received and I look forward to it clearly recorded in court.”
President Donald Trump agreed with Mciver’s arrest.
“The days of being awake. That woman – I have no idea who she is – that woman was out of hand … The days of that nonsense are over in this country,” he told reporters. “We’re going to have straight and order.”
Beatty said the Trump team Mciver is trying to criminalize because it stands up for transparency. “The charges against her are a politically motivated stunt – a abuse of power that is intended to punish supervision and punish dissidence,” she wrote on X.
Adams went on.
“This administration seems to have problems with black female legislators who do their work,” said the congressman. “I will stand with Rep. Mciver until these flagrant, ridiculous, racist charges are withdrawn and proudly thank her for her courage.”
Although the charges were rejected against him, Baraka wrote: “I am at Lamonica and I expect completely justified.”
