Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked space scientists on Saturday to prepare for a deep space exploration mission to unravel the secrets that brighten up the future of humanity.
In a video address on the National Space Day, Modi announced that India prepared for setting up a Pool of Astronauts for future missions and urged the youth to be part of this group.
“We have reached the moon and mars. Now we have to peek in deep space, where various secrets that would improve the future of humanity are hidden,” Modi said.
Achieving one milestone after the other in the room sector has now become a natural feature of India and its scientists, Modi said.
“Beyond galaxies lies our horizon, the endless universe tells us that no border is the last border and also in the room sector, at policy level, there should be no last border,” the Prime Minister told a meeting of space scientists, students and policy makers from the entire country.
He said that India made progress in breakthrough technologies such as electrical propulsion and semi-cryogenic engines.
“Soon, thanks to the hard work of yours, scientists, India will launch the Gaganyan mission and will also build his own space station,” he said.
The Prime Minister also asked the private players if five startups can become unicorns for the next five years.
“I would like the private sector to come forward … Can we reach a point where we can launch 50 rockets every year?” He asked space scientists and engineers.
Modi said that his government has both intention and willpower to implement the reforms of the next generation that are needed to achieve this vision.
He said that India saw space technology not only as a tool for scientific exploration, but also as a means to improve the convenience of life.
“Space-Tech is increasingly becoming an integral part of the board in India,” he said, and quoted satellite-based assessment in crop insurance schemes, satellite information and safety for fishermen, applications for disaster management and the use of gospatial data in the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.
Modi said three days ago that he met group captain Shubhanshu Shukla, who unfolded the national flag at the international space station and proudly filled every Indian.
He said that when Shukla showed him the Tricolor, he was touched above words.
Modi said that in his interaction with the astronaut he witnessed the boundless courage and infinite dreams of the youth of New India.
