The Carabinieri of Sesto San Giovanni (Milan) investigate the death of Davide Garufi, a 21 -year -old young tiktoker. Davide had recently unveiled Tiktok’s profile as a transgender woman who was asked to be called Alexandra and to announce the beginning of hormonal therapy for the transition. He worked as a seller and took his own life last Wednesday by shooting himself with a firearm that was legally possessed by his father, in the house where he lived with the parents.
The researchers investigate the possible impact of cyberbullying on his decision, given that Davide had received insults and online spot, confirmed by his followers and even continued after the announcement of his death.
Davide’s profile on Tiktok, active since 2020, alternated ironic content with important personal moments, including his transgender identity and then not binary such as Davide. The comments under his posts often contain insults that the researchers have now investigated.
Italian Links has issued a press release in which “Pain and Anger” is pronounced for his death, in which it is described as a result of a traditional culture supported by anti-cell movements and an intolerant right.
