Francisco Alvarez and Francisco Lindor each drove in Runs to open the 10th inning and the visiting New York Mets held the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-3 on Monday, while they expanded their winning series to four games.
Lindor hit a home run on the second throw of the game and right -handed Paul Blackburn went five scoreless innings in his seasonal debut. Poet Edwin Diaz (3-0) had his first blown salvation before taking the victory, while Jose Buto records the last two for his first save.
New York has won 27 consecutive games when Lindor has reached a home run.
After losing the National League Championship Series of the Dodgers last fall, New York won three wins in four games against Los Angeles, all since 23 May.
Shohei Ohtani hit a home run for the Dodgers and had a game-typing stroke in the ninth against Diaz. Andy Pages had an RBI Single in the 10th, but Los Angeles could not score again with runners on the first and second with one with one out.
Left-Hander Tanner Scott (0-2) stood up in the ninth two points (one earned) to see his era in his debut season with Los Angeles rising to 4.73. Starter Dustin May gave two points on six hits in six innings, gave two walks and switched off five.
Lindor’s First-Inning Home Run gave him 14 on the season and four in the last four games.
The Mets made the score at 2-0 in the fifth on a basic rule double from Brandon Nimmo.
Blackburn rode in his first start since August 23 last season and got three hits with one walk and three strikeouts. He had been gone with hand, spine and knee injuries.
The Dodgers broke through in the seventh on Ohtani’s 424-foot at home to the right field of right-handed Max Kranick. It was the 23rd of the season of Ohtani to bind the main competition of the Major League with Cal Raleigh of Seattle Mariners, and his sixth in eight games.
The RBI doublel to the right of Anvarez opened the 10th for New York against Scott, after which Lindor drove in the final game-winning run on a single to the left field corner.
