Still looking for their first victory of the season, De Los Angeles Galaxy hopes to build a solid effort in their last outing when they organize the San Jose events on Wednesday.
The Galaxy (0-11-4, 4 points) remain Winloze 15 games in the 2025 ml season and will be disappointing on Saturday a disappointing 2-1 loss for San Diego FC. Los Angeles was the first to score in the game, counting in the 40th minute before he admitted the equalizer a minute later. San Diego scored the Go-Ahead goal in the fifth minute of the stop time in the second half.
“I think the frustration at the end strikes again,” said Galaxy coach Greg Vanney. “The boys have been resilient. … We know that we have (successive) home games for the first time in the season. We have to bounce back. We have to make our partners here a backup that at the end of the game a few difficult decisions and a few plays.
Los Angeles has scored 13 goals so far, so that the team was set at almost 30 in the course of the 34 match campaign after last season as third in MLS with 69. It was mainly a battle on the other side of the field, because it has admitted 35 goals-15 less than the total of last season.
“I think it takes a bit of toll,” said midfielder Diego Fagundez about the struggles of the team. “It’s difficult. All we are still fighting. We are still fighting. And that is something we can be proud of. But at the same time, fight and all this at the end of the day, we want points. We want to win games. That is what counts in this competition.”
In the meantime, the earthquakes enter the mid-week match in their last five (2-0-3) after playing a third straight draw on Saturday 3-3 against the Houston Dynamo.
San Jose (5-6-4, 19 points) immediately scored three to erase a 2-0 deficit, with Preston Judd noted his first two goals of the season to start the rally.
It will be the first of four straight road races for the earthquakes, which are 2-3-1 as a visitor. The two wins have come in each of the last two games at opposite pitches.
“The team has done well for the past two or three weeks,” said San Jose coach Bruce Arena. “Next week we have two difficult matches to go to LA against a team that has not won a match in 15 matches. They will be very well prepared to try to get their first year. That will be very challenging, just like the competition in St. Louis. We have to come and get it there.”
