Dave says: Do you want big results? Embrace major changes

Dear Dave,
Your plan has really changed our financial life and our relationship for the benefit of the past three or four years. My wife and I went from living salary to PayCheck and a mountain of debts, being debt -free, except our house and a good start to saving for retirement. It was not always easy, but we let it happen by working together and sticking to your plan. At the moment my wife and I often wonder why so many people are willing to live the way we used to? We cannot imagine that we are going back to that now.
Marshall

Dear Marshall,
Wow, thank you very much for all the friendly words. I am really proud of the two of you. Remember only one thing: I may have shown you a path and gave you some encouragement, but you have done all the hard work and made the many sacrifices you made where you are now. Congratulations!

To answer your question, there are many reasons why some people oppose the making of changes in their lives. Often one of those things is denial. Ninety percent of solving a problem is to realize and admit a problem. I am convinced that one of the most important factors prevent people from winning with money is that they do not realize that they even have a problem – or it will not admit.

If you are apathetic because you think that things such as debts and living salary-to-paycheck are just normal parts of life, you will not be willing or sometimes afraid of making the big changes needed to achieve great results. The debt is so ingrained in our culture that most Americans cannot imagine that the university cannot propose without student loans, or a car without huge payments for five or six years. We have been Sold on the idea of debts So aggressive that most people do not believe that a decent life is even possible, unless hundreds or thousands of dollars are attached to payments.

Another thing is that change is painful. Most people will not change what they do or how they live until the pain of where they are is greater than the pain of change. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you are now financially, is largely an amount of the life decisions that you have made so far. There are some people who experience unhappy, life -changing things, but in most cases, if you don’t like where you are, you have to acknowledge that things have to change. You have to acknowledge the fact You have to change.

And finally, there is usually an element of ignorance involved. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t call anyone stupid. I am talking about a lack of good information. The good news is that learning new things is not that difficult. You just have to admit that you do not have all the answers and focus on studying and teaching yourself about the subject in the neighborhood. Because if you are not careful, what you don’t know about money to make you broke and keep You broke.

Only my thoughts. I hope it helps!
