Dave Roberts says that Dodgers with more urgency should play when Padres gets close to NL West

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is not happy.

The Dodgers dropped their series opener to the Los Angeles Angels with a score of 7-4 on Monday evening. Besides two late homers from Shohei Ohtani and Max Muncy, the Dodgers were never really in the game.

This loss, exacerbated with a number of bad recent losses for the Toronto Blue Jays and St. Louis Cardinals in which Leads were given late, has only one match for the rival San Diego Padres in the sudden Felconted NL West.

After the loss, Roberts was considerably more open – and much less positive than he is normal. Given the circumstances, it is understandable, since the Dodgers have gradually blown a very comfortable division lead in recent months.

“There must definitely be some urgency. I don’t think someone is blind to the fact that the rankings are the rankings. It has become a lot more interesting. So we have to go outside and play a good baseball. I definitely feel that our boys are starting to feel that urgency. It has long enough to baseball – for the overall teamwins and losses.”

To be honest with Los Angeles, the team works in a large number of players who had previously been injured for long pieces.

The starting pitching has been far from the problem in the past 10 days, and with the return of Blake Snell and Tyler GlasNow, one can see the circumference of what a devastating Vierman group could be in a postseason series (when also Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto).

At the same time there is a visible lack of energy. The attack is currently also struggling enormously in clutch situations. Freddie Freeman still seems too hobbled because of his ankle. Mookie Betts is working on working out a career-to-sinking. Will Smith is in the middle of his first malaise of the season.

When it then enters the inconsistency of Teoscar Hernandez, the inability is to hit a few moments of Michael Conforto and the general lack of production from the bottom of the order, it is not overly surprising to see Los Angeles clamping on a slender division lead.

At this point, whether it is a new prospect or getting Tommy Edman and Hyesong Kim completely healthy, a spark must come from somewhere. Otherwise the Padres are in an excellent position to make this a real race for the rest of the regular season.
