The Los Angeles Dodgers face the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday and want to prevent them from being swept in the entire season series of six games.
Shortstop Mookie Betts was initially omitted from the line -up on Wednesday. However, the Dodgers then released an updated line -up with Betts but not Max Muncy.

Why is Max Muncy out for Dodgers vs Angels?
Manager Dave Roberts revealed that Muncy has to do with pain in his right side that appeared while he did pregame cage work. Roberts said that Muncy is considered from day to day, but that he tests more on Thursday’s day off.
“Initially I had Mookie a planned day off,” said Roberts, “and then Max went into the cage today to start his routine and then felt a little pain in his side, in his right side. We just felt that talking with the training staff, to be careful.”
An injury for Muncy would be one of the worst scenarios for the Dodgers, because he had just returned after missing a little more than a month with a knee injury.

The Line -up of Dodgers is completely different with and without muncy. In 89 matches with Muncy, the Dodgers is an average of 5.79 runs per game. In 31 games without Muncy, the Dodgers is on average only 3.42 runs per game.
Is Max Muncy’s injury the same oblique sloping that he treated last year?
Roberts said that Muncy’s injury “is not the same as last year.” He added that Muncy thinks it is ‘not muscular’.
Muncy missed three months with the sloping injury last season.
Mookie Betts returns to the Line -Up
As far as Betts is concerned, he is entangled in a seasonal malaise, but has finally started to show signs of the outbreak of it. He has a hit in seven consecutive games and touches .400 (12-out-30) in that piece.
