Dave Roberts reveals Dodgers mentality as pressure mounts to complete Three-Peat

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is fully embracing the challenge his team will face as they embark on a three-peating this season.

Roberts said Jack Harris of California After that he is not backing away from the pressure, but welcoming it as LA looks to capture its tenth title in franchise history.

“I think it matters [the players] and myself and the coaches to keep that incentive to be a team that wins three in a row. “I have enough confidence in our players that when I talk about stuff like that, they talk about stuff like that, we’re not going to run away from it… I think our guys can really understand that and manage that, and that comes with experience.”

Can the Dodgers complete a historic Three-Peat with their loaded roster?

The Dodgers are looking to become the first team in a quarter century to complete a three-peat in sports. LA has a great opportunity to do just that because of their loaded roster. This season alone, the Dodgers added two of the very best free agents in outfielder Kyle Tucker and closer Edwin Diaz.

Not only is Los Angeles turning it back, but they are restructuring and doing everything they can to win another title. If the Dodgers get the job done, it would be Roberts’ fourth title with the organization.

Roberts isn’t the only member of the team who wants all the smoke, but others have spoken out about embracing the pressure.

“It’s something we definitely have to take into account,” president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said during the Winter Meetings.

Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts also said they are not complacent.

“I’m ready to buy another ring next year,” Ohtani said at the time.

“It’s time to fill the hand completely, honey,” Mookie Betts repeated.

The Dodgers are the favorite to come out on top again, with a 22.2 percent chance of winning the World Series, according to ESPN.

Injuries aside, there’s no reason why the Dodgers and Roberts shouldn’t come out on top. They have all the tools to get back to the mountain top: a loaded lineup, a deep starting rotation, an improved bullpen and a stronger defensive outfield.

Roberts has shown that he is the man who can guide LA time and time again after years of uncertainty.
