Data Breach from Delivery Giant exposes 40,000 personal data

Thousands of people have exposed their sensitive personal information in a data breach at the American delivery company Onrac. The infringement took place between April 13 and April 15, 2025 and had hit more than 40,000 people throughout the country.

Onrac has 64 facilities in 31 states and runs four large sorting centers nationwide. The company, taken over by Lasership in 2021, has an annual turnover of around $ 1.5 billion.

The infringement notification letters confirm that attackers have access to sensitive data that can feed identity theft and fraud.

Onrac Datalek exposes sensitive information

According to documents that have been submitted to the Attorney General of Maine, cyber criminals may have gained access to:

• Names and birth dates
• Social Security Numbers (SSNS)
• Driving license or Staats -id’s
• Medical
• Information about health insurance

Unlike stolen credit cards, medical data and SSNs cannot be easily replaced. That makes this infringement particularly dangerous.

Why the Onrac infringing endangers your identity

Exposed SSNs and IDs cause serious risks of identity theft. Criminals can open fraudulent bank accounts, submit false tax returns or take over benefits.
