Danny Simpson declares the Newcastle United star does not need this move to a ‘bigger’ club

Danny Simpson has been talking about England and some of the Newcastle United players.

Simpson went on to win the Premier League title with Leicester and was a key player in the United team that finished fifth in the 2011/2012 season.

However, Danny Simpson focused on some current Newcastle United stars.

The former NUFC right back states that Tino Livramento does not need to move to a ‘bigger’ club, that he can realize his ambitions with Newcastle United AND that he should start for England in the World Cup finals next summer.

Danny Simpson believes Anthony Gordon should also be first choice for England, with both he and Tino playing together on the left.

Danny Simpson asked by Dream Vegas; ‘How far can Tino Livramento go? Can he be part of England’s World Cup squad next summer?’

“Tino Livramento has really impressed me, playing both left and right back shows his versatility and athleticism.

“He doesn’t let himself be fooled and has a good mentality. He has also done well for England.”

“I would like to start Tino Livramento at left back for England, just because of his athleticism and because I want Anthony Gordon on the left wing.

“Relationships are crucial and over the years we haven’t used that enough for England.

“Those two with their relationship at Newcastle, with their energy on the left, not many people are going to outscore many physically.

“He is better off at Newcastle, where he can play week in, week out. He is already in the England squad, so he does not need to go to a ‘bigger’ club.”

“He will also learn from Kieran Trippier every day. For his development he needs to stay at Newcastle, enjoy his football and try to win another trophy.”

Danny Simpson asked; ‘Jason Murphy and Harvey Barnes have stood out for Newcastle this season, would you say either of these players are among the most underrated in the Premier League? Did they deserve to be called up to the England squad?’

“To get into winger positions in England you have to be on fire because of the quality of that team.

“Do they have the quality? Yes. Harvey Barnes has also played for England before. He was at Leicester when he was called up.”

“There’s no reason why they can’t, but the talent in these positions is incredible.

“Jacob Murphy, I think he got about twelve assists last year, which was incredible, but England can be a challenge for him.

“Harvey Barnes has a better chance of being called up again, but injuries and form elsewhere will determine the decision.”
