Dana White responds to Tom Aspinall’s criticism of his comments after UFC 321

UFC boss Dana White has given his opinion on Tom Aspinall, taking issue with his comments following the UFC 321 main event.

As we know, Dana White was not very happy after Tom Aspinall’s no-contest against Ciryl Gane. After Aspinall suffered a nasty eye injury at the hands of the Frenchman, Dana suggested at the post-fight press conference that Tom ‘didn’t want’ to continue, with the wording of that response leading to more than a few raised eyebrows among fans and media members.

Of course, Dana White will voice his opinion regardless, as has been his general attitude throughout his career with the company. Tom Aspinall, meanwhile, is still trying to understand why exactly the fans turned on him, instead of turning on Gane because he’s the one responsible for the actual fouls.

At his post-fight press conference, White said the following about Aspinall not being happy with his comments after UFC 321.

Dana White’s thoughts on Tom Aspinall’s criticism

“I understand,” White said at the UFC 323 post-fight press conference. “I don’t remember exactly what I said. What did I say? I think his eyes are okay? I know Tom said I didn’t even talk to him and all that stuff. We have people all around him now, keeping an eye on him, making sure he’s okay, if he needs any help or specialists. I’m not a doctor. I’m just saying what I heard.”

“It’s not said in a certain way [to be detrimental]”I said I think he’s doing fine.” It wasn’t like that. I said I think Tom’s eyes are fine, it will take some time for him to heal and come back. That’s all I said.

“I didn’t say anything negative to him. I think things could be taken out of context or he didn’t see what I said because I don’t even fucking remember what I said. But I never said anything negative about him or in a derogatory way.”
