Equipped with anti-aircraft warfare and anti-submarine warfare modules, C-Guard is designed to protect naval vessels against a variety of incoming threats.
There are currently more than 150 systems operational worldwide.
Damen Naval project director Jasper Oreel said: “We are pleased to integrate Terma’s advanced C-Guard system into the PES frigate. Its proven performance and modular configuration are a good fit for the mission versatility of the SIGMA 10514 platform. We look forward to successful project execution and continued collaboration with Terma.”
The partnership brings together the expertise and technology of Terma and Damen Naval in the PES frigate program.
It also means a strong alliance between Northern European defense entities.
The frigate, based on Damen Naval’s SIGMA 10514 design, will be the first ship of its kind to be built in Colombia in collaboration with local shipbuilder COTECMAR.
“We are proud of the relationship and trust that Damen Naval has gained and we welcome the opportunity to work even closer together not only with Damen Naval but also with the Colombian Navy,” said Terma Naval Sales Director of Sales Martin T Jentsch.
Earlier in 2025, Damen contracted Naval Alewijnse, an electrical engineering group, as the main collaboration partner for the integration of electrical systems in the PES frigate.
Swedish defense contractor Saab was also contracted to provide the battle management system for the frigate.
