Adjusting the loft angle of a PXG Lightning driver

There are a few simple steps you can take to adjust the loft angle of your driver. All you need is an adjustment tool or a wrench to get started.

To customize a PXG Lightning driver:

1. Locate the screw on the sole of your PXG Lightning driver that secures the driver head to the shaft.

2. Using the wrench, loosen the screw by turning counterclockwise.

3. Once the screw is fully loosened, you can rotate the adjustable hose to a lower cage or a higher cage depending on your preference. You will notice the loft figure you had the driver set to and you can rotate the shaft to up to 16 other options.

The available options are:

  • Point position: Set the club to the indicated loft and most upright lie angle
  • Small downside (-1° loft, -0.5° lie): Decreases ball flight and spin slightly for faster swings.
  • Major drawback (-1.5° loft, -1.5° lie): Further delofts for a lower launch.
  • Flat Minus (+0° loft change but -1° effective loft, -2.5° lie): Flattens lie significantly while maintaining loft, which promotes fade bias
  • Small Plus (+1° loft, -0.5° lie): Increases launch height and spin for higher carry.
  • Big Plus (+1.5° loft, -1.5° lie): Maximizes height for players who need more loft.
  • Flat Plus (+1° loft, -2.5° lie): Adds loft with maximum lie smoothing for draw bias adjustment.

4. When you have rotated the hosel to the desired loft, slide the shaft back into your club head. Your new loft will be visible through the window to most drivers.

5. Replace the screw and tighten it clockwise with the wrench. When it is completely tight, you will hear a crank that sounds like the driver is creaking. At this point the screw is tightened as much as necessary.

Each time you want to adjust the hutch, repeat this process.
