Cuomo’s white ‘Not The OJ Bronco’ gets a ticket after illegally parking it in a loading zone – Jalopnik

Andrew Cuomo is a lot of things – out of control nepo baby, alleged sex bullying, grandma killer, two-time loser of the race to become the next mayor of New York City – but if there’s one thing he’s definitely not, it’s being a good driver. Whether it concerns red lights, speed limits or parking bans, the man likes to treat traffic rules as suggestions. And if you thought he would follow the law while driving the white Ford Bronco that he insists is not the OJ Bronco, then I have some bad news for you: Hell Gate reports this He just got a ticket for illegal parking.

Now Cuomo is rich, so the cost of that ticket is unlikely to impact his ability to pay his bills or even impact his budget in any way. People with that kind of money tend to view parking tickets and other fines as the cost of doing whatever they want, which is one reason why fines in other countries are often scaled based on income. However, because the U.S. believes you should be allowed to break any traffic law as long as you can pay the fine, Cuomo reportedly felt comfortable parking his ’96 Bronco in a truck-loading only zone outside his East 54th Street apartment.

Unfortunately for Cuomo, parking cops in New York still sometimes issue tickets for illegally parked cars, even if they’re parked in affluent areas, so he’ll have to pay that off at some point, which is no doubt annoying for him. Oh well.

“I walk past his apartment building to the river a few times a week, and I hadn’t seen it before, but I had seen it in the news, so I knew exactly what it was,” our tipster told us. They added: “There were construction workers trying not to hit it and maneuvering around it.”

Our tipster then filed a 311 complaint about the Bronco.

“At first I thought it was funny, but then I knew it was illegal parking. No one is allowed to park there. I wanted to report it,” they said.

And report that they did. But they at least suggested that the parking police would consider giving Cuomo an easy exit, saying, “Parked in a truck loading only zone.” Unless he leaves today, I think I’ll have to give him a break.’ Clearly they didn’t give him a break because 17 minutes later the 311 app showed Cuomo’s Bronco had been ticketed.

When asked for comment, a spokesperson for Cuomo told Hell Gate that “if that’s true, the ticket will be paid and I wish you all the luck in the world once this piece is submitted for Pulitzer consideration.” How stylish.
