The 4 ½ Furlong Henry Mercer Memorial has drawn a well-tuned field from early ripe West Virginia-Breds, led by various impressive girls’ winners who want to take the next step in Stakes Company.

Irish Jubalee comes in and both the 5-2 morning line favorite and the most experienced participant who have already raced three times. The Anthony Farrior -Stagee, a son of Juba, broke his girl in second place and asked in a sharp way in Charles Town before stretching his speed against Coarance Company in Timonium, where he was in the lead and finished second.

The slightly raced Colts Chuck Town and Gurney Halleck renew acquaintances after leaving the same Maiden Dash of 6 September. Chuck Town, trained and bred by Michael Sterling, broke sharp, moisture under pressure and held Gamely for the victory in: 52.33, who earned a 65 figure. Runner-up Gurney Halleck, a yearling of $ 100,000 by practical joke that was trained by Jeff Runco, showed a good determination in defeat and figures to take advantage of that debut. Both have the pedigree and connections to be serious players here.

Another big threat is tricks R for Juba (7-2), who initially defeated Irish Jubalee. He recently dubed with that rival before he finished just behind him in the Timonium allowance. The Lone Charles Town of the Ronald Sigler -Stagee Town Try to earn a solid 64 Beyer figure, and his tactical speed should serve him well to cut back to the Mercer distance.

The large spap adds intrigues for the Farrior shed. The son of Great Notion debuted in Timonium, where he set the pace and removed comfortably to score with open lengths. Although his figure (53) came back light compared to some rivals, he did everything well and could move forward for the second time.

Noble Ruling (15-1), a winner on the second question to ask for two innings, and the 0-from-2 Ifhedildanced (30-1) must both step forward to compete in this place. Lasix gets the latter for the first time.

With several fast young people who have been registered, the race can come down where Colt handles the expected pace struggle.
