Premier League club Crystal Palace have hit a roadblock in their pursuit of Barcelona youngster Roony Bardghji.
Despite guaranteeing him a more prominent role in the team, the Eagles have failed to convince the 20-year-old to join them in the January transfer window.
Roony Bardghji rejects Crystal Palace’s move
Barcelona signed Roony Bardghji from Copenhagen for around €2 million during the summer transfer window. It was initially expected that they would sell it for a higher price that same summer.
However, the youngster impressed Hansi Flick during training and has become a regular in the matchday squad.
He played thirteen games in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing two assists. Barcelona legend Michael Laudrup has praised Bardghji and said he has defied expectations.
His performances have attracted the attention of some of the most elite teams in Europe, including last season’s FA Cup winners Crystal Palace.

Oliver Glasner’s side are in the market for a dynamic right winger and have identified Bardghji as a potential target. According to Fichajes.net, they offered him regular playing time and short-term exposure.
But despite the lure of playing for one of the most promising teams in the Premier League, Bardghji has decided to stay.
According to the aforementioned report, Palace are not the only team to have rejected the Sweden international. Everton, Brighton & Hove Albion, Nottingham Forest and Sunderland have also failed to bring the player to England.
Bardghji only wants to succeed at Barcelona
Roony Bardghji understands that a move to a smaller club would give him more playing time. However, he is fully committed to success at Barcelona.
The young forward believes that leaving after such a promising start would damage his chances of achieving his goal. He wants to stay in the Barca hierarchy and eventually become a regular in the starting XI.

With the LaLiga title fight heating up, Flick could give him more minutes to keep his first-team players fresh.
