Mateta has entered the final 18 months of his contract at Selhurst Park and has so far refused to sign an extension in south London.
The 28-year-old has scored 38 goals in the Premier League over the past two and a half seasons to attract interest from top teams.
Mateta made his France debut this autumn and has scored twice in three caps, while a place in Les Bleus’ World Cup squad could further boost his profile.
It is understood the forward is considering his options amid interest from Champions League teams and Palace are willing to sell for the right price in the summer. In the Premier League, both Manchester United and Aston Villa are considering a move.
The Eagles have already begun the search for a replacement, with Panichelli high on the list. Journalist Alan Nixon claims Palace are monitoring the player’s performances in Ligue 1 this season.
Panichelli signed for Strasbourg from Alaves in the summer after a productive loan campaign with Mirandes in the Spanish Segunda Division.

He was an instant hit in France, with ten goals in seventeen games in Ligue 1. The 23-year-old’s form earned him a debut in Argentina this autumn.
Chelsea have also been eyeing Panichelli, with Strasbourg also under BlueCo ownership of the club.
