Couple and their daughter killed in shooting in Lakewood, LA Sheriff’s Department confirms

Authorities on Friday revealed additional details about the three people found shot to death in a Lakewood home.

The victims were 52-year-old Hector Lionel Alfaro, his 48-year-old wife and 17-year-old daughter, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

The shooting was reported around 8 a.m. Thursday on Lorelei Avenue near South Street when someone called about an assault with a deadly weapon.

When officers arrived, they saw a 19-year-old woman running from the home. The woman, later identified as Alfaro’s eldest daughter, said her father shot her, police said.

After entering the home, officers found Alfaro lying on the floor in the home’s study with a gunshot wound to his upper torso.

Alfaro’s wife and youngest daughter were found in separate bedrooms with gunshot wounds to the upper body.

The 19-year-old later told investigators she was awakened by the sound of gunshots, the sheriff’s department said.

She also told officers that her father entered her bedroom and fired his gun several times. She was not hit or injured.

According to police, two firearms were found at the scene.

There was no suspect involved and no threat to the public, officials said Thursday, hours after the shooting was initially reported.
