With the start of the regular NHL season 2025–26 around the corner, rumors will certainly pick up again. The Calgary Flames will always be a team that is linked to rumors, which suggests that the veterans of the team can be moving. Nazem is Kadri among those players.
Kadri turns 35 in October, and although he liked his time as a flame so far, he wants to win and would like to go back in the play -offs. However, that is probably not the reality for the flames at the moment, so rumors around a Kadri trade have been loud.
Although a Kadri trade includes many aspects, it would be logical to move it for the right package. As far as teams are concerned, several have been mentioned, but perhaps a recent freer has emerged. The Florida Panthers recently received devastating injuries around their captain in Aleksander Barkov, and if the team becomes desperate, Kadri could be a player they seem to focus on?
The Panthers season has changed worse

Not to mention the team is a proven winner, and you know that that is important to him. Although Kadri has a full NMC, would he agree to refrain from going to Florida? I mean, why wouldn’t he? They are a competition, a tax -free state and have good weather all year round. I am sure that Florida is a great place for NHL players to retire and Kadri is not becoming younger.
How would it work under the cap?
Let’s say that the Panthers in fact show interest in Kadri. How would they fit him in their current CAP situation? Well, that’s the problem. Florida is currently $ 4.5 million above the salary limit. You would think that they will simply put Barkov and Tkachuk on LTIR, but persist. The Recent NHL CBA agreements are aimed at concluding the “LTIR Maas in the law” Once and forever.
From this season, teams can only create up to $ 3,817,293 in CAP flexibility. If the Panthers Barkov and Tkachuk place on LTIR, their added cap exceeds that number enormously. When it comes to Barkov specifically, the only way the team can get real relief from his cap -hit if they claim that he is not playing at all this season. This includes play -offs.

Would a Kadri be so logical for the Panthers? He would fit well on paper and reduce the impact of losing Barkov, but the logistics behind it is incorrect.
