“I want to do the fans awe when they look”, Sandhagen said on UFC 320 Countdown. “I can disable Merab, I can submit Merab. I am not going to get tired in five rounds, and my wrestling is 1000 times better than these other boys he fought. At the moment I feel unbeatable. At UFC 320 I win this fight.”
It is clear that Cory Sandhagen is convinced that he cannot beat Merab Dvalishvili alone. But he believes he will be him. He also thinks it could be through submission, which would have been a surprise how dominant the champion has been on the ground.

Not only being a striker with fancy jiu-jitsu, but actually being super good with struggling,” Sandhagen said. “I can step into the cage with absolutely everyone and I have all the tools to beat everyone around the world.”
Sandhagen comes from a submission victory over Diveson Figueiredo to earn the title shot.
