Toronto – LaneUnder Fraser Ably, remained unbeaten after a new striking performance, this time in the Johnnie Walker Natalma Stakes (G1T) on Saturday for 2-year-old mares, in Woodbine.
The Natalma, a race of $ 500,000 peat that is disputed over an interior mile, is part of the Breeders ‘Cup Challenge series and gives the winner entitled to automatic access in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. That degree 1, a mile event is performed on del Mar on October 31.
Hot Mash jumped out of the gate and grabbed early command, followed by La Culasse, supplemented with the race, Sweet Fusion, Dixie Law and Corsia Veloce by an opening quarter in: 23.81 over a sturdy inner peat.
La Culasse took over the procedure shortly after the opening panel and led hot puree with three lengths after half in: 48.47, while Ably strengthened its time with 12-1 Corsia Veloce.
Third hugging the rail that came from the turn of the house, Corisa Veloce then got her designation by Aebly and the daughter of the practical joke from the City Zip Mare Beth’s Bling Split Rivals, who set her sentences on the leader. A La Culasse competition continued to dig in the rail, while hot puree looked at Reel in Corsia Veloce, which hit the front 70 meters from the line and set up a threefold struggle for all loot.
During the finish, Corsia Veloce was half a length for hot puree. La Culasse was a further neck back, while Light 6-5 Mutuel Choice Dance to the Music (GB) established for fourth place. Dyna was scratched.
The last time was 1: 37.42.
“She is a very easy mandriffen to drive,” praised Aebly, who earned his victory of the first class 1. ‘She is doing everything well and she makes you look good.
“This is very special I, because of the connections. You know, the owners are very special, and the trainer too. We have a very good relationship here.”
Under the custody of Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame Inductee Josie CarrollCorsia Veloce gathered impressively the last time to win the $ 150,000, a glimpse of strikes, a 6 ½-furlong test for 2-year-old mares on the EP Taylor Turf.
“It’s so special and I trained others in the family, making it feel even nicer for all of us,” Carroll said. “It’s very exciting. A marey like this, you don’t often go three-for-three with a baby like this, and the way she did it so gamely, it just gives you shivers.”
The Bay Merrieveeulen, bred (in Ontario) and owned by Glenn Sikura (Hill ‘N’ Dale Farms) and Mario Serrani, noted a neck score in her debut, a 5 ½-Furlong main track sprint on Woodbine on July 6.
“The people on the farm that are always forgotten, they do so much hard work and such great things, and they love these animals, and this is the biggest sport in the world,” Sikura said. “If you can get such a victory, I tell you, it made my year.”
Corsia Veloce paid $ 26.50 for the victory.
