As the successor to the legendary TKC 80, the 2026 Continental TKC 80² dual-purpose motorcycle tire emerges. The TKC 80 has been serving the travel enduro and adventure motorcycle segment for four decades and will continue in the dual-purpose segment, while the TKC 80² meets the demands of modern adventure motorcycles.
A new tread design features larger blocks with a 70% larger footprint, improving stability and grip on the road, while staggered outer tread blocks and optimized block geometry improve mechanical grip on loose surfaces and provide excellent self-cleaning when driving in mud and snow.
The tread blocks on the front tire slope steeply in the direction of travel and improve grip under off-road braking with a better bite angle, while the block design on the rear tire is designed in the opposite direction to provide optimal traction during acceleration.
Designed as a true 50-50 tire, the new TKC 80² offers stability at full load, at high speeds and on demanding off-road routes, while the damping behavior of the carcass increases driving comfort in all conditions. The new rubber compound offers a better balance between grip on different surfaces and ensures wear resistance.
Mileage is improved while the new flexible rubber compound adapts perfectly to the micro-roughness of the asphalt, providing excellent grip. “The tire tread combines maximum flexibility for safe grip on wet surfaces with high block stiffness for stability and mechanical grip,” says Raphael Michels, Product Manager Motorcycle Tires at Continental.
The TKC 80² is available in four front tire widths of 19 and 21 inches and six rear tires for 17 and 18 inch wheels, suitable for all modern enduro and adventure touring motorcycles from the major manufacturers. Availability of the TKC 80² in Malaysia will be in the first quarter of 2026, while pricing is yet to be determined.
