Conor McGregor really wants to become president of Ireland.

On Monday the former dichotomy UFC champion launched an online petition in the hope of getting enough attention that he could possibly change procedures, so that he could get to the mood for the general elections. “I, Conor McGregor, explain my intention to look for the valued office of President of Ireland,” wrote McGregor for his Change.org campaign. “The current constitutional framework, however, is a considerable barrier for democratic participation. The existing regulations mandatory that a candidate must protect the nominations of twenty members of the OireActas or four district councils to be striking for the vote. This system, although intended to limit a degree of political influence between candidates.

“In the light of this, I propose a petition that argues for an adaptation of the nomination process to be admitted to the mood. I claim that the citizens of Ireland, both at home and abroad, for an adaptation of the nomination process. Process, which enabled the people of Ireland to shape their own future.”
