The recent injury update of Donte Divincenzo is always becoming strange. On Wednesday it was announced that Divincenzo would miss Eurobasket due to a recurring toe injury. Divincenzo was originally planned to play for Team Italy after he had been given Italian citizenship earlier this month. The Italian basketball reporter Gigi Datome said that this injury will entail a therapy process of three to four months.
“On July 21 we received approval from the (Timberwolves),” said Datome. “Donte resumed the training, but between 22 and 23 July he felt discomfort in his big toe, who had already cost him a month this season. We set a deadline yesterday, and according to doctors and specialists we were talking about three to four months of therapy, so it was not possible. He sent the video to show that we were on the same page.
With three to four months of therapy, the update of Datome is certainly worrying, and it can very well jeopardize the start of the season for Divincenzo. However, trusted Minnesota Timberwolves reporter Jon Krawczynski said that the wolves see this as precautions and that Divincenzo is ready to go before the start of the season.
About Divincenzo’s announcement of a health problem that prevents him from playing for Team Italy: I was told that Wolves consider it as a precaution. No concern about his willingness for the coming season.

The comments from Datome must certainly relate to Wolves fans. Anyway, the comments of Krawczynski and the mentality of the wolves should give fans a sense of optimism, especially because he notes that Divincenzo must be ready for training camp.
Divincenzo’s mix of shot creation, shooting outside and making play makes him an important part of the title of the wolves. He on average 11.7 points while he shot 39.7 percent from outside. With Nickeil Alexander-Walker who leaves a free agency, Divincenzo can be even more important for the team this season.
It is unclear how serious the injury of Divincenzo is
At this stage it is difficult to know what is certain. Maybe both things are correct; Divincenzo gets therapy for months while he is still healthy enough to start the season. As an alternative, three to four months can be a high -quality estimate, and Divincenzo may need less time to recover and go through therapy. It is also possible that the comments from Datome Hold True and Divincenzo miss the start of the season.
However, based on Krawczynski’s comments, the wolves do not seem to worry, which is undoubtedly a positive sign. Anyway, the wolves must ensure that Divincenzo is completely healthy before he returns to the court. If that means that he misses for some time as a precautionary measure, it is so. Divincenzo missed 19 games with a toe injury last season and he has already responded this injury. The absolute sausage-case scenario is that Divincenzo is wounded again and ultimately needs surgery.
The wolves are a smart organization and would not place Divincenzo in a poor position. Fans must trust the wolves to make the right decision. Given the comments of Krawczynski, there seems to be an important hope that Divincenzo will be healthy before the start of the season, despite this injury shock.
Nevertheless, this is a developing story and things can change quickly. Expect further clarity as the season gets closer. Hopefully the conviction is that this injury is just a precautionary measure.
