“I am honored to become a member of Compass, a company that is committed to the empowerment of agents and ensuring that homeowners keep control of how their property is brought to the market,” Glass said in a statement. “This is a crucial moment for the real estate sector, and I am delighted to give my expertise to a company that is so clearly tailored to supporting both the agents and the homeowners they serve.”
In Cooley, Glass Compass represented in its lawsuit against Northwest MLSwho challenged the prohibition of the organization on private exclusive offers.
In earlier private practice he represented the National Association of Realtors In the court case of Sitzer-Burnett.
Glass has worked on matters with MLS governance, the mention of data access, brokerage -competence and platform responsibility.
Founder and CEO Robert Reffkin said that Glass’s appointment reflects the position of the company against what the restrictive practices of MLSS and Real Estate Platforms calls.
“At Compass we are firmly convinced that agents should not be fined by MLSS or have to be banned by Zillow for marketing lists of their platforms and that no agent should be told by an MLS or Zillow how to work with their customers,” said Reffkin. “Bringing Ethan Glass on board our Chief Legal Officer reflects our non -repellent dedication to the choice of the seller and the challenging of these limiting practices that limit when, where and how homeowners can bring their houses to the market.”
