On the way to the 2025 season, if you had predicted which starting pitcher of Colorado would have the most victories, the answers would probably have been Kyle Freeland or Germán Márquez, or perhaps an optimistic gamble of Chase Dollander. Chances are that Tanner Gordon was not a likely candidate.
The 27-year-old Rookie will be on the Heuvel tonight. The Seattle Mariners (88-69) with the chance to seal the Rockies with his seventh victory. Gordon (6-7, 6.00 ERA) gets the chance for a .500 record on the Heuvel in his 15th start, only a fraction of Freeland’s 30, Márquez’s 25 and Dollander’s 21. All three starters have combined for only 10 wins with four games about the Docket and Dollander already done for the season.
In Seattle, Gordon joined his colleague Rockies in a number of slides of costumes.
Gordon throws head-to-head vs. Luis Castillo (10-8, 3.63 ERA). The 32-year-old Righty and triple All-Star make his 32nd start to the season. Castillo has been on a role in September and enters 2-1 with a 2.86 ERA with four quality start-ups in four starts. He only allowed three hits, while he hit three and nobody ran in six Shutout -innings against Kansas City in his last outing.
After achieving a Postseason location, their victory won on Tuesday evening, the Mariners can achieve the Al West title with a victory on Wednesday.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Rockies (43-114) made some line-up movements, including the recovery of global warming from the IL. The Rookie starts on Wednesday at first base.
