The Jeremy Fears Show will make its next stop at the Kohl Center on Friday. Will Michigan State’s point guard go big again and get something like the 26 points and 15 assists he posted last time? Will he get another technique for something basketball players aren’t allowed to do in basketball games?
No idea what to expect.
Everything is on the table!
Michigan State-Wisconsin is the latest Friday primetime game worthy of our attention. It’s a Big Ten showdown between the schools currently ranked third (Michigan State) and sixth (Wisconsin) in a conference that is expected to field ten teams in the 2026 NCAA Tournament. Oddly enough, both come off wins over Illinois. Michigan State was 85-82 in overtime on Saturday. Wisconsin’s was 92-90 on Tuesday, also in overtime.
Now back to Fears.
I think I speak for everyone when I say that I hope the crazy things the All-American prospect has done in recent weeks to tarnish his reputation are completely behind him (just like I hope Darryn Peterson’s cramps, hamstring problems, ankle issues and flu-like symptoms are completely behind him). If I have to spend a minute on Sunday’s episode of the Eye On College Basketball Podcast if you talk about fears for reasons other than points, assists or rebounds, it will be disappointing.
Anyway, I can’t wait to watch!
Michigan State, ranked No. 12 in Friday morning’s updated CBS Sports Top 25 and 1 daily college basketball rankings, is listed as a 1.5-point road favorite. If the Spartans win, they will improve to 21-4 overall and 11-3 in league play. That would put them in a tie for second place with Illinois in the Big Ten. Both the Spartans and Illini would then wake up Saturday two games behind Michigan in the conference standings.
Michigan, of course, is No. 1 in the Top 25 and 1. The Wolverines will host UCLA on Saturday on CBS. Tip-off for that is scheduled for 12:45 PM ET.
