Cole Palmer gives fitness access as Chelsea beat Wolves

Cole Palmer admits he is not yet fully fit after leading Chelsea to victory over Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday.

The playmaker scored three goals in the first half, becoming the first player ever to score three hat-tricks in the opening period of a Premier League match.

Tolu Arokodare got one back after the break but the Blues ran out a 3-1 winner to ensure they remain fifth in the table.

Palmer, who made just his 12th top start of the season, has seen his minutes improve after dealing with groin problems and a broken toe earlier this season. But the 23-year-old is hopeful that he can soon put his problems completely behind him.

It felt good to score some goals and get three points,” he told BBC Match of the Day after the whistle.

‘I don’t think so [I’m 100 per cent fit] only just now. Obviously people don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes, but being injured all season is not ideal and if I can’t perform the way I want to because I’m injured and still dealing with the injury, hopefully I can get over the injury quickly by dealing with it. I know what level I can offer when I feel 100 percent fit.

“Not being 100 percent fit is not ideal. I still feel like I can help the team, but when I’m fully fit again I feel like I can go to another level.”

Palmer has now scored seven league goals this season, four of which have come from the penalty spot.
