No one has played better at PGA National over the past five seasons than Shane Lowry, with the Irishman’s 63 on Saturday taking him to a cumulative 57 under in that period.

Yet Lowry hasn’t won a PGA Tour event since 2024 and hasn’t won an individual PGA Tour event since 2019, when he broke through at the Open Championship for his big win.

“It’s not necessarily easy to lead on this golf course. There are a lot of very difficult shots,” Lowry said as he shares the 54-hole lead at the Cognizant. “But yeah, I’m where I want to be. I’ve had a few chances to win this tournament, and hopefully I can convert them tomorrow.”

He starts the day tied with journeyman pro Austin Smotherman and the two will be in the final group on Sunday at 1:45 PM ET.
