Cobra OPTM drivers are new for 2026 with four models in the range as successors to the DS-ADAPT series following the arrival of the OPTM X, OPTM LS, OPTM MAX and OPTM MAX-D.
The four DS-ADAPT drivers weren’t released until early 2025, but they’ve been replaced as Cobra’s top model by the OPTM, a new addition from 2026.
The X, LS and Max-D models remain, albeit with some new design elements and performance benefits. The Max-K version of the DS-ADAPT series has a name change to become the Max model only.
Cobra added the four drivers to the USGA Conforming List in December 2025, ahead of an early 2026 launch.
The OPTM MAX and MAX-D prioritize maximum forgiveness and MOI, with the latter including a draw bias for slice correction. The OPTM X is the standard model and an all-rounder, while the OPTM LS aims for low spin.
Cobra OPTM X driver specifications and design
The OPTM X is the standard model in the line and fills the same role as DS-ADAPT
The
The two will likely be combined to add more stability and control than the DS-ADAPT X.
Cobra’s FutureFit33 adjustable hosel is expected to remain part of the design, offering a huge range of loft and lie angles – 33 in fact as the name suggests.
The
Cobra OPTM LS driver specifications and design
Designed for golfers with higher swing speeds, the Cobra OPTM LS driver helps reduce spin and improve versatility when shaping shots.
The LS is the player-focused, low-spin head, taking over from the DS-ADAPT LS as Cobra’s most tour-oriented option.
It features a strong carbon crown with multiple weight ports including a front toe weight plus an additional heel or rear port to provide stability with the ability to tune the setup.

Compared to DS-ADAPT LS, the most obvious change is how aggressively the front mass is pushed toward the toe, which should increase resistance to face twist for better players who can swing at higher speeds.
This model features three separate weight ports (accuracy in the heel, forgiveness in the rear and fade in the toe) and makes the LS more adjustable than the previous fixed low-spin setting.
The LS model is available in 9 degrees and 10.5 degrees and is adjustable up or down by 2 degrees.
Cobra OPTM MAX driver specifications and design
The OPTM MAX is the successor to DS-ADAPT MAX-K and is the neutral club head with high MOI for maximum forgiveness and suitable for players who want launch and stability.
The MAX can best be described as the game improvement model with a larger and more confidence-inspiring club head.

It features a carbon crown and the most simplistic weighting setup, with this model having just one rear crown designed to push the weight back towards the back of the club head to maximize inertia and forgiveness.
It is also designed to increase launch and create a longer carry distance, compared to the more forward-facing, lower-launch X and LS models.
The MAX driver is available in lofts of 9 degrees, 10.5 degrees and 12 degrees with two degrees of adjustability up and down.
Cobra OPTM MAX-D driver specifications and design
The OPTM MAX-D driver is the draw-biased version of the series, designed to help combat a slice or fade and provide straight trajectory and distance.
Like the MAX, it has a high MOI head for maximum forgiveness, but the big difference with this model is that it has an internal weight structure for players who fight a good miss.
Cobra has added an adjustable heel weight that is listed as a draw for expected bias and is accompanied by rear weight forgiveness.

The MAX-D is in the game improvement sector with a larger head than the X and LS and is designed to prioritize launch and forgiveness over ultra-low spin off the tee.
It has a full carbon crown and sole design to maximize speed through the air, the combination delivering an all-round solid package of launch trajectory and distance.
The Max-D driver is available in lofts of 9 degrees and 10.5 degrees with two degrees of adjustability up and down.
Cobra OPTM Drivers Review: Are They Any Good?
Cobra has stuck with the proven DS-ADAPT driver range and kept things the same – albeit with one change to the name of the MAX model.
Otherwise it’s the same setup, but with some changes in technology, design and weight positioning to improve the performance of all four models.
Expect more distance, more carry, more tee box accuracy and tighter dispersion. We look forward to getting our hands on the models when they launch.
