Stephanie Elam remembers her ‘ride of that’, Ananda Lewis, whom she saw only a day before she lost her battle with breast cancer.

Elam was emotional with CNN -anchor Sara Sidner as she did recalled Lewis only visit one day before her death on June 11, Vs today reported. Elam shared that she drove directly from an overnight stay about the protests of Los Angeles to be on the side of Lewis and to hold her hand. She was planning to return the next day, but Lewis died before she could.

“After I got out of the sky, I looked down and had a message from her beautiful big sister, who was such a strong champion for her and kept me informed of everything. She sent me a message and told me she died just before I finished the last hit,” said Elam. “And so it’s too late.

“One thing I want everyone to know is that she had peace with this decision,” Elam added from Lewis. “She had grip on a grip.”

Elam, who met Lewis prior to their first -year year at the acclaimed HBCU Howard University, said the Teen Summit The health status of Star changed faster than expected.

“We thought we had weeks, and it turned out that it changed in days, and then it was actually just a matter of hours,” said Elam.

Lewis was a striking TV personality in the 90s and early 2000s. In 2001 she stepped into the spotlight to organize her short -term talk show, The Ananda Lewis Show.

In October Lewis appeared on CNN with Elam and Sidner after Sidner’s diagnosis of stage 3 breast cancer and spoke about the holistic approach she took to combat the deadly disease.

“The diagnosis of cancer made sure that I changed things in my life that I would otherwise never have changed, that I had to change but would not change,” Lewis said at the time. “And those changes have given me more of my joy access to more of the time.”

Ananda Lewis is survived by her son, Langston Lewis, whom she shared with Harry Smith, Will Smith’s younger brother.
