The Los Angeles Clippers survived the late rally against the Washington Wizards 110-106 and earned their sixth straight victory on Monday evening.

James Harden dropped in 36 points and made two free throws under 36.9 seconds to give the Clippers a 108-106 lead, and after the teams traded scoreless possessions.

After Wizards Kyshawn George missed a three-pointer, Harden was fouled again with 5.9 seconds left, but missed both free throws even though he was 16 for 16 from the line.

Washington was unable to secure the rebound as the ball bounced back to Harden and was fouled again, this time securing two free throws to seal the victory.

The Wizards have lost seven in a row.

Despite the two teams going in opposite directions lately, this game was actually close throughout.

Harden’s layup put the Clippers within three, but Khris Middleton was fouled while shooting a three with 57.6 seconds left, making all three free throws to tie the score at 106.

The Clippers were without Kawhi Leonard for the second time due to injury, while Trae Young still hasn’t played since being traded from the Hawks to the Wizards.

Alex Sarr led Washington with 28 points, while George added 18, six assists and six rebounds, but missed a trio of key shots in the final minutes.

Los Angeles won despite cold shooting, 5 of 28 from beyond the arc.

The Clippers play away against Chicago on Tuesday, while Washington hosts Denver on Thursday.
