Clemson tight end Ian Schieffelin was arrested this weekend on suspicion of Duik, The team confirmed in a statement. Coach Dabo Swinney said that Schieffelin, who played at the Clemson Basketball team for the last four years, will miss time this year as a disciplinary measure.
There were no details about Schieffelin’s arrest or the incident available immediately.
“We are aware of the arrest of Ian Schieffelin on suspicion of Dui,” Swinney said in the statement. “Clemson Athletics has a clear policy with which we will stay, so Ian will miss a competition to start this season. We are clearly very disappointed about the situation, but we are very grateful that no others were involved and nobody was injured.”
Swinney noticed last fall His interest in adding Schieffelin to the football program and offered him a place on the Roster in April. Schieffelin initially entered the transfer portal in search of a fifth year of the eligible university basketball, but chosen instead chosen to include Swinney in the football range and stay at Clemson for the 2025 season.

Schieffelin made an important contribution to the Clemson Basketball program and took major steps in his last two years, both of which led to NCAA tournament performances. He won the ACC MOST improved Player Award as a junior and landed a place in the All-Accel Second team last season. For his career, Schieffelin played in 134 games and made 99 starts. He ended his time with the program as his seventh leading rebounder of all time.
