Public Prosecutors have confirmed that they are appealing against the prison sentence of mushroom murderer in Patterson and claim that it is clearly insufficient.
Patterson, 51, was imprisoned for life in September for killing three of her lunch guests by serving them a meal with the deadlapers.
Public Prosecutors insisted on a prison sentence without a conditional release, but Victorian Supreme Court Justice Christopher Beale showed Patterson Mercy by giving her a 33-year non-conditional period.
The judge called her difficult conditions in custody, including a solitary imprisonment for at least 22 hours a day, as part of his reasoning to give her a chance of conditional release.
The Victorian director of the disclosures confirmed on Monday evening that it would appeal against Patterson’s sentence.
“We confirm that a DPP -Hoger profession has been filed on the basis of the fact that the punishment pronounced in Patterson is clearly insufficient,” said a spokeswoman in a statement.
The professional period of Patterson would expire on Monday at 11.59 pm, but a new practical memorandum meant that the expansion of the appeal would be granted automatically if they were submitted a punishment for 56 days.
Her former parents -in -law, Don and Gail Patterson, both 70, and Gail’s sister, Heather Wilkinson, 66, all died after eating the meal, while Heather’s husband Ian became seriously ill but survived.
She was convicted of three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
Patterson has always deliberately served the poisonous mushrooms, and claimed that the death of her in -laws was a terrible accident.
