Top seeds Jannik Sinner will be on Monday in the third round action at the Cincinnati Masters together with colleague Italian Lorenzo Sonego. Sinner is going against Gabriel Diallo, while Sonego is opposed to Taylor Fritz.

After he skipped the Toronto -Masters, Sinner plays his first tournament since he cancel the Wimbledon trophy. Fritz and Sonego will be in their career for the eighth time on Monday for the eighth time. The head-to-head series is 5-2 in favor of Fritz, but the matchup is more skewed than that since the fourth rank American reached the top echelons of tennis. He is 3-0 in their last three games that go back to the Paris Masters from 2021 and he has taken their last two tilting in straight sets included in the same Cincinnati tournament in 2023.

Another convincing victory for Fritz should be in the cards. Sonego did well to beat Zizou Bergs with 6-3, 7-6 (4) in his Cincyopener, but the 36th rank Italian is only 16-19 this year and he would rather be against Fritz on clay or even a slower hard court.
