Highway operator AFA Prime (formerly known as ANIH) has released its travel time advisory for this year’s Christmas period, for December 25 and 28 on the KL-Karak Highway (KLK) and the East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (LPT1), where traffic is expected to be heavier during the holiday period.
For travelers starting their journey on December 25 from Kuala Lumpur or Selangor and entering at the Gombak Toll Plaza, the recommended travel times are from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM or from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM for travel towards Pahang, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM or from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM for travel towards Terengganu, and from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM or from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM for travel towards Kelantan.
For those traveling back to Kuala Lumpur or Selangor, recommended travel times are 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM or 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM from Pahang (entry at all toll plazas), 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM from Terengganu (entry at Jabor toll plaza), and 4:00 PM hours to 8:00 PM or 9:00 PM to 12:00 AM from Kelantan (entry at Bentong Toll Plaza). Travel advisories are open between midnight and 6 a.m. on both days.
For express buses to destinations on the east coast, the prescribed travel times are from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 9:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Users of light vehicles are advised not to enter the Gombak toll plaza during these times.
