Chloe Kelly, who scored the winning goal of England when she lifted the euros in 2022, was the Lionesses hero again when she scored the extra-time winner to secure their place in another final
Chloe Kelly admitted that the comeback victory of England against Italy in their semi-final was not in the way they had hoped, but did not complain after reaching a third consecutive big tournament final. And with a confrontation against Germany or Spain, the English hero Kelly said they are already focusing more.
The lion ribbons pulled themselves out of prison for the second time in the same number of matches, after they had won a sudden deaden penalty shoot-out against Sweden in the quarters, and it could not have been much dramatic.
A penalty proved the key again, but this time it came only three minutes before the end of extra time, where Kelly scored the rebound after her own spot kick was saved by Laura Giuliani, who completed a sensational comeback.
“It’s incredible,” said Kelly. “Such a great feeling, this team deserves nothing but that.
“Three finals on the jump but we want more. It is an incredible feeling. It didn’t have to go that way, the penalty, but I was just ready for the rebound!

“I was confident, but the keeper did her homework. We keep practicing our penalties and luckily I came for the tap-in.”
Michelle Agyemang had forced extra time with a goal in extra time at the end of the 90, and won praise from Kelly after also touching the bar moments before the competition -winning penalty.
“Big Me [Agyemang] Again! She should have scored again with the other who hit the bar, “Kelly added.” She is an incredible player. She has the world at her feet, she is a young player with a bright future and I am absolutely buzzing for her.
“This team is fighting back, we have that resilience … but hopefully we can make it a little easier for ourselves in the final!”
England was moments of elimination, where Barbara Bonanse Italy broke at the front in the first half.
Agaremang’s late, late show, however, brought an extra 30 minutes, and Kelly made a decisive impact of the bank – just as she did against Sweden.
