Chinese official meets the Indian envoy in the midst of confrontation with Pakistan

The official of China’s Senior Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Asian Affairs, Liu Jinsong, met the Indian ambassador in China Pradep Kumar Rawwat in the midst of India-Pakistan Military Conflicts and exchanged the views on bilateral relations and issues of common concern.

Mr. Liu, the director -general of the Asian Affairs Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met Mr Rawwat on Monday (May 12, 2025), said a short press release from the ministry.

Early on 7 May, India performed precision attacks under ‘Operation Sindoor’ on terror infrastructure in Pakistan in response to the terror attack of 22 April who killed 26 people. After the Indian action, Pakistan tried to attack Indian military bases on 8, 9 and 10 May.

India and Pakistan reached a household name on Saturday to end the conflict after four days of intense cross -border drone and rocket attacks.

The short press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the two parties have exchanged the views on relations between China and India and issues of common concern.

“This is also what the international community hopes to see,” said Mr. Liu. China supported and welcomed this latest development, he added.

China hoped that India and Pakistan are ceasing and continuing the momentum -avoiding conflicts, differ differently through dialogue and negotiations and return to the trail of the political settlement, Mr Liu said.

China was ready to stay in communication with India and Pakistan and to play a constructive role in realizing a complete and permanent cease -the fire between the two countries and keeping the region peaceful and stable, he said.

China welcomed the concept between India and Pakistan on Monday and said that it was in the fundamental and long -term interest of both countries and was conducive to regional peace and stability.

The Indian embassy in Beijing had previously warned the Tabloid of the State Global Times To verify messages before they are placed on social media.
