The ceremony takes place on August 25, 2 months after the Sparks in Los Angeles retire its number
The WNBA has announced that the Chicago Sky Franchise will Lift the uniform sweater From Candace Parker to the trusses of the stadium this summer.
On August 25, in Wintrust Arena, the team celebrates the success of Parker’s time with heaven when they retire her no. 3 sweater during their match against the Las Vegas Aces. Her basketball sweater hangs directly next to the 2021 championship banner of the team.
Breaking: The Chicago Sky will retire the Candace Parker sweater on 25 August, the team announced on Wednesday.

“Growing up in Naperville, playing with my brothers on jobs here, and watching Chicago teams such as the Bulls, who became synonymous with winning, I never thought that my sweater would hang in the trusses of my hometown team,” said Candace Parker in a written explanation. “Coming home in Chicago and the city here to help bring its first WNBA championship – it was personal. I am the city, the fans and everyone who was part of my journey, I didn’t grateful to me. Chicago has brought me up, and this will always be at home.”
Heaven has a tribute to Parker, together with a pension ceremony with special guests. A video assembly will present her best moments while playing for the Chicago team. The Arena will have memorabilia while presenting important moments that took place while Parker was wearing the uniform.
Sky fans get the chance to buy merchandise with a limited edition that can be purchased in the arena or online. In addition, fans receive a special Candace Parker theme, which is announced.
“Candace Parker is a legend, future hall-of-famer and synonymous with Illinois basketball. We are very happy that she decided to come home to Chicago to help the air win a championship in 2021,” said Sky CEO and President Adam Fox. “Candace has left an indelible stamp on women’s basketball at every level and has inspired countless players and fans for her excellent leadership and basketball talent on and next to the field. We are honored to retire her sweater and celebrate her incredible legacy as a Chicago Sky player.”
Parker helped heaven to win the championship when she had an average of 13.8 points and 2.1 Steals in 10 Postseason matches in 2021. During her two seasons with the franchise, she had an average of 13.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.1 blocks while I started 55 matches.
The Los Angeles Sparks announced earlier this year that they are retired Parker’s Basketball Jersey next month on June 29. The team plays against the Sky in Crypto.com Arena on that day.
