– Nearly 24,000 Chevrolet Corvettes are recalled after at least four fires have been reported.
However, the recalled Chevrolet Corvette cars from 2023-2026 must be equipped with the left radiator/fan combinations.
General Motors says that surplus fuel can spill and cause fire in the vehicle during the refueling in the fuel filling bag.
According to GM:
“Vehicles that are not equipped with a combination of left-sized radiator/fan are not influenced by this recall campaign. E-röntgentrimijnen do not offer cooling systems with a radiator on the left and are not influenced by this recall campaign. The left combination of Radiator in North America is not offered on Stingray-Modellen.”
According to GM, in a Corvette equipped with a combination of the left radiator/fan, the fuel filling pipe and the fuel filling bag (the sunken area with the fuel filling pipe) are located above a radiator surface and a cooling fan.
“If surplus fuel is spilled in the fuel filler bag (especially in cases where the tank hose is not automatically switched off as designed) and leaks from the bag on the radiator surface while the cooling fan runs, the cooling fan can pull the leaked fuel through the radiator, extend the fuel in the engine feet and extend the fuel damp -foot.” – Chevrolet Corvette Fire Recall
Four Corvette fires have been reported and GM says that defective gas pumps were a contributing factor for at least two of the four fires. Corvette steering programs said that the petrol pump mouthpieces were not automatically eliminated as should.
General Motors says that Corvette owners must follow the tank instructions in the owner’s manuals to reduce the risk of fires.
Chevrolet Corvette Fire Recall Letters will be emailed from October 6, 2025, but dealers are not ready to carry out repairs. Second reception letters are sent when dealers are ready to install shields to distract spilled fuel.
This is said to prevent fuel from touching hot springs that can cause fire. The added shield reportedly leads spilled fuel away from surfaces behind the quarter panel.
Chevrolet Corvette owners with concern must call 800-222-1020.
