One of the two Chery models launched in Malaysia today is the Tiggo 7 PHEV Plug-in Hybrid, which is launched next to the Tiggo 8 PHEV, after the opening of the order books for both at the end of last month.
The Tiggo 7 PHEV arrives priced on the Malaysian market RM129.800Local assembled (CKD) from the start, from Kulim, Kedah. This plug-in hybrid variant will be for sale next to the Tiggo 7 of the gasoline that is still for sale.
The internal combustion engine is a 1.5-liter turbo compressor TGDI four-cylinder engine that performs 143 PS and 215 Nm, combine with a 204 PS/310 Nm electric motor and a special hybrid transmission with one gearbox (DHT). The ice basically works as a reach extension and combined, powertrain outputs are 279 PS and 365 Nm, sent to the front wheels.
The electrified segment of the powertrain consists of an 18.3 kWh battery that can be charged via DC to 40 kW, which gives a SOC of 30-80% in 19 minutes, while AC charging up to 6.6 kW with a maximum of 6.6 kW charging the same in three hours. Conversely, vehicle-to-load (V2L) is supplied up to 3.3 kW.
In the Tiggo 7 PHEV this yields a fully electric range of up to 90 km and can reach a maximum hybrid range of 1,200 km, this claimed figure is the same for both the Tiggo 7 PHEV and the Tiggo 8 PHEV. Fuel tank capacity for the Tiggo 7 PHEV is 60 liters.
With a long -term, 1.862 mm wide and 1,696 mm long with a wheelbase of 2,670 mm, the Tiggo 7 PHEV has a claimed wading depth of 500 mm, which is matched by the Tiggo 8 PHEV; CURB weight is 1,795 kg. Rolletic stock is a set of 18-inch alloy wheels, measured in tires of 255/60R18, and these are supplemented with a tire repair kit.
Exterior equipment on the Tiggo 7 PHEV includes automatic LED headlights and DRLs, LED fog lamps, active bends and consecutive front indicators, LED agendas and a hands-free powered tailgate.
Inside, the Tiggo 7 PHEV gets a 24.6-inch (double 12.3-inch) screen setting for the instrumentation of the digital drivers and Infotainment Touchscreen, with support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Audio output is Sony Premium Audio System by eight speakers, while an intelligent speech assistant is also included.
For device connectivity there are USB-C and USB-A-Ports in the front row, while the occupants of the rear seat get USB-A ports. The front row gets a 50-watt wireless device loader and a 12-volt power socket, while there is still a 12-volt power-stop contact in the luggage space.

Guarantee coverage is seven years or up to 150,000 km for the vehicle, with an eight -year -old, 160,000 km warranty on the drive battery, electric motor and hybrid powertrain unit. Also offered is a five-year service package (free labor) for six service intervals.
For extra ownership-like peace of mind, the Tiggo 7 PHEV, just like the Tiggo 8 PHEV, is offered with a one-on-one battery exchange policy such as the health condition of the hybrid drive battery falls below 70% during the vehicle warranty period.
