Chelsea wants to demand 100 million euros for an influential midfielder due to increasing interest

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández is emerging as one of the most watched figures of the 2026 summer transfer window, with interest growing from across Europe’s elite.

Despite being under contract with Chelsea until 2032, Argentina’s future is far from simple as sporting ambition, financial reality and outside interest begin to converge.

Fernández remains a central figure at Stamford Bridge, both in terms of influence on the pitch and long-term planning.

The World Cup-winning midfielder has eleven goals and four assists for the Blues this season.

However, Chelsea’s image means that even players tied to long-term contracts cannot be considered completely untouchable.

That has opened the door for Europe’s heavyweights to calmly assess the situation before the summer.

Real Madrid are interested in the Chelsea midfielder

One of those keeping a close eye on Fernández is Real Madrid, sources close to the agency industry have informed Caught offside.

Much of Madrid’s thinking is tied to the long-term vision surrounding Jude Bellingham.

Should Bellingham leave at the end of the season, a scenario that Madrid are not actively preparing for but cannot ignore, Fernández is seen as having a profile capable of taking on a leadership role at the Bernabéu.

That said, Madrid’s midfield is currently well-stocked, and sources close to the club suggest there is no urgency to act.

Any move would likely depend on significant spending, which obviously slows momentum.

Paris Saint-Germain’s approach is clearly different. PSG view Fernández as a flagship who could anchor their next cycle, and crucially, they have the financial capacity to match Chelsea’s valuation.

Chelsea’s stance remains steadfast in public. Head coach Liam Rosenior has repeatedly shown his desire to build around Fernández.

Internally, Argentina is seen as a reference point for both the present and the future.

Yet Chelsea’s financial obligations mean difficult decisions lie ahead. If the club chooses to sell, sources suggest a fee of around €100-110 million would be required.
