Chelsea has been told that the summer signing of Joao Pedro from Brighton represents a ‘better deal’ than the record recruitment of Liverpool by Alexander Isak.
Liverpool broke the British transfer record to sign Isak from Newcastle in a £ 125 million deal on Deadline Day. The Swedish striker arrives in Anfield after scoring 45 league goals in the last two seasons in front of Eddie Howe.
Chelsea was connected to Isak last summer, but has since strengthened their options with the addition of Pedro and Liam Delap.
Pedro has made a brilliant start of his Chelsea career and scored five times in six performances in all competitions.
Former Chelsea wing player Pat Nevin believes that the blues have received a better deal after investing £ 60 million in the Brazilian, who hit the ground in West London.
“The club brought Joao Pedro for half the price of Isak. Isak is really twice the player that Joao Pedro is? I don’t think,” Nevin told The Mirror.
“He is a fantastic player, he is probably better than Joao Pedro at the moment, but if you look at smart money, then Chelsea has the better deal.”
