The west London side have activated the recall option in Anselmino’s transfer to the German side and he will return to Stamford Bridge with immediate effect. Anselmino has made ten appearances in all competitions for Dortmund this season.
Liam Rosenior has opted to recall the Argentine to boost Chelsea’s defensive options. The Blues are currently without Levi Colwill and Tosin Adarabioyo due to injuries.
Dortmund confirmed Chelsea’s decision with a statement on the club’s official website.
“Centre defender Aaron Anselmino is leaving Borussia Dortmund and returning to Chelsea with immediate effect. The Premier League club has activated a clause, which will prematurely end the defender’s loan spell, which was originally scheduled to last until June 30, 2026.”
“The 20-year-old Argentinian played ten games for BVB and scored one goal. Borussia Dortmund would like to thank Aaron Anselmino and wish him all the best for the future.”
