Tottenham Hotspur were also keen on Paz in this year’s summer transfer window, with Como a Price tag of £60 millionbut with a strong start to 2025/26 with eight goals already, the 21-year-old’s stock continues to rise.
Real Madrid retain an £8m buy-back clause for Paz, a graduate from their La Fabrica set-up, and have continued to monitor his progress in Italy as they eye a left-footed offensive signing sooner or later.
Madrid could complicate matters for Chelsea
If Nico Paz leaves Como next year, it stands to reason that the Premier League clubs interested in him, especially Chelsea, would want to capitalize on their chances of signing him, thanks to stronger financial power compared to their competitors.
That said, Real Madrid could be the ones to complicate matters for the Londoners as not only do they have a buyback clause for the Argentine, but they still retain some of his rights, giving them good negotiating power over his future.
Given that Rodrygo Goes has been linked with a move away from the Spanish capital, which has fallen out of favor under Xabi Alonso, Real Madrid could exercise their option to bring Paz back to the Santiago Bernabeu, effectively without any competition.
However, Paz would be a solid signing for Chelsea, with his playmaking ability, shooting from distance and late runs into the penalty area, coupled with pressing and tackling without the ball, making him a well-rounded option with huge potential.
