Chahal builds solid lead in round two of the Faridabad NexGen event

Aditya Raj Singh Chahal shot a 4-under par 68 in the second round to build a five-shot lead at the DP World PGTI NexGen in Faridabad on Wednesday.

Chahal enters with a tournament total of 7-under 137 at the Aravalli Golf Club, the DP World PGTI said.

Jaipur-based Chahal (69-68), the overnight joint leader, produced an eagle, five birdies and three bogeys on the day to take the sole lead at the Rs 25 lakh event.

Jujhar Singh (69) and Santosh Kumar (73) shared second place at 2-under 142.

Sunny Singh (72) and Arjun Bhati (72) were tied for fourth at 1 under 143.

The top 43 players made the cut, which was declared at 6 over 150.

The prize money for each NexGen event has been increased from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh this season.

Suitability for events

Participants in the 2026 DP World PGTI Qualifying School are eligible to play on the NexGen Tour in 2026.

This year’s NexGen Order of Merit winner will receive an exemption from the main tour (DP World PGTI) for the 2027 season.

The second event, presented by RS Gill, will be played at the Ranjitgarh Golf Club in Phillaur from March 3 to 5.

The next three events are at Lucknow Golf Club (March 10 to 12), Golden Greens Golf & Country Club in Gurgaon (March 17 to 19) and Patna Golf Club (March 24 to 26).
