China’s CFMoto shows it is serious about the superbike market and is showing its flagship sports bike V4SR-RR at the EICMA motorcycle show in Italy. The V4SR-R tops the range of CFMoto’s SR sportsbike range, currently consisting of the 250SR, 250SR Lite, 450SR, 500SR Voom and 675SR-R, in Malaysia.
The V4SR-RR comes with a 997cc V-four engine, which can produce more than 210 horsepower, according to CFMoto. This number puts the V4SR-R on par with anything in the superbike class from the established European and Japanese manufacturers.
With a ratio of less than one kg per horsepower, the V4SR-RR, which weighs less than 200 kg on paper, is probably one of the most powerful production motorcycles in the world, apart from the purpose-built racing bikes campaigning in the World Superbike Championship.

Aerodynamics also play a major role on the V4SR-RR, with servo-controlled winglets on the front fairing that deflect airflow for maximum downforce. The V4SR-RR also features a semi-active electronically controlled suspension, while Akrapovic supplies the exhaust system.
CFMoto has not promised whether the V4SR-R will become a production model. However, the V4SR-RR will play a role “as an advanced platform for the development of future models that will soon take shape.”
