One of Australia’s most famous florists, Cherrie Miriklis, is selling her creative home in Kew with an expected price of $3.3 million to $3.6 million.
In 1989, Mrs Miriklis founded Flowers Vasette, which has since become an institution in Brunswick St, Fitzroy.
Today she also has branches in Chadstone Shopping Centre, beauty giant MECCA’s Bourke St store and a studio in Port Melbourne.

Flowers Vasette provided the flowers for the wedding of singer Tina Arena to her now ex-husband and former manager Ralph Carr, and the wedding of actor and model Olympia Valance to former Essendon player Tom Bellchambers.
Ms Miriklis has worked at the National Gallery of Victoria, Australian Open, Grand Prix, Spring Racing Carnival and Crown Casino.
Her company, which has more than 122,000 followers on Instagram, is a flower supplier to luxury brands such as Chanel, Hermes, Dior, Prada, Cartier, Tiffany & Co, Aje, Rolex and Paspaley.
The kitchen is equipped with a marble-topped island, Miele appliances including an induction hob, double oven, microwave and steam oven, and a butler’s pantry with dishwasher.

Mrs Miriklis calls this room “the green room”. It is a refuge where she enjoys reading and meeting people she has mentored in the business world, such as young florists.
Ms Miriklis said she bought the “beautiful” five-bedroom house at 68B Wellington St shortly after it was built, about two years ago.
But now that her son will soon be leaving abroad, she plans to downsize.
The house is spread over three levels and features a lift, a curved staircase, a marble kitchen with Miele appliances and a butler’s pantry, a combined study and gallery, and a terrace.
The main bedroom features a walk-in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom, while two of the upstairs bedrooms also have en-suite bathrooms.

Hydronic heating, zoned cooling, European oak parquet, polished concrete floors, double glazing and solar energy are among the features of the home.
The multi-purpose entertainer’s room on the lower level serves as a home theater and game room, in addition to a triple garage.
Mrs. Miriklis has renovated the entire garden with the help of her expert florist and created a vegetable garden in the backyard.
“I have gardenias, jasmine and garden roses,” she said.
“Also at the front we have the clematis on the arch style sleepers and they form the entrance to the main entrance with all the beautiful flowers and maples.”
Inside, a tall potted Kentia palm benefits from the natural light streaming in from above the stairs.
Ms Miriklis’ fond memories of the residence include hosting up to 40 relatives and friends for large Greek Easter celebrations.
“We hosted an incredible party and opened the outdoor area with the sliding door,” she added.

Peter Vigano of Jellis Craig said families with teenage and adult children were among the buyers who inspected the property.
He said the large bedroom allowed parents to effectively live on one floor, while their children or in-laws lived on the other floors.
“But then there’s also a lift to all floors and you’ve got plenty of sleeping space on the first floor, the great games and rumpus room in the basement with the oversized garage and more storage in the wine cellar,” he said.
The three levels of the house contain a total of 545 m² of floor space.
Mrs. Miriklis describes the garden as beautiful but low-maintenance.
He added that the garden looked “quite spectacular”.
“It’s definitely worth a visit just to see Cherrie’s flower arrangements and garden,” Mr Vigano said.
The house will be auctioned on February 28 at 11am.
